Mazaya Real Estate Development Company has celebrated National Sports Day, which was declared a national holiday in Qatar by HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani who firmly believes that sports should be incorporated into Qatari’s lifestyles regardless of nationality and age.
Mazaya’s management, staff, and families took part in the various activities on National Sport Day, which the crown prince declared should be an annual national holiday as part of the leadership’s efforts to encourage a healthy lifestyle, potentially preventing many life-threatening diseases.
Mohammad Al Qadhi, Mazaya’s Assistant Director of PR said: “We are so happy to participate in this event, as it plays an important role in spreading cultural and athletic awareness amongst individuals and sheds light on the importance of sport in their daily lives. The fact that National Sports Day will now be a national holiday affirms the importance of sport for Qatari citizens and residents and the need for an active lifestyle.”
The CEO of Mazaya , Mr. Seraj Al Baker, said that Qatar is proactive in organizing such athletic events and activities promoting them both regionally and worldwide. He also said that on a more local level “this strategy encourages a wider participation from different state institutions and sports clubs creating cooperation between the various groups and institutions, promoting community cohesion.”
Al Baker also thanked HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the crown prince, for this initiative, which shows the interest and concern of the wise leadership in promoting sport into its national culture and creating awareness in society; encouraging a healthy lifestyle in line with Qatar’s national vision for 2030 of positive sustainable human development.
Al Baker thanked the team of Mazaya who participated on behalf of the company with such enthusiasm and camaraderie, especially during the cycling activities.
Mazaya employees also expressed their joy in participating on this eventful day and felt energized by the whole experience. Also they appreciated the importance of the day which not only showed how interested Qataris were in different sports but also the efforts the leadership makes to encourage public and private institutions to promote a sense of social responsibility as well as to build bridges between various organizations and communities.
