Mazaya Qatar marked the Qatar National Sport Day

Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development Company marked the National Sport Day on 12th of February, in line with a prestigious initiative adopted by HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent who issued an Emiri Decree stating that Tuesday in the second week of February each year will be the State’s National Sports Day.

The developer organized a plethora of family oriented sports activities for the company’s employees and their families, supervised by a physical training specialist. The program included volleyball, football and basketball in addition to other children activities.

Speaking on the occasion, Seraj Al Baker, CEO of Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development Company, said: “Through this participation Mazaya Qatar has been keen to support the country’s initiative of promoting an active and health lifestyle on the national level by encouraging citizens to practice sport. The governmental interest has peaked with the issuance of an Emiri decree in this regard. We are pleased to participate in this event to contribute to promoting sport culture and supporting this initiative in all means possible”.

“It was a fun and enjoyable event that received an overwhelming community response and support. The family involvement has added an atmosphere of joy and pleasure. It was, also, an opportunity for our employees and their families to get together and share ideas and experiences. No doubt this represents one of the objectives behind holding this day in our beloved country”, Al Baker added.

The Sport Day has seen a large-scale nationwide participation in its activities such as the non-competitive walk along Doha Corniche and Aspire Park and in the other areas outside Doha. Doors of playgrounds and courts were opened to public, while all sporting federations and clubs were notified to postpone their competitions and activities scheduled on this day to later date. This move has been instrumental to increasing turnout and supporting organizational success. The event received a significantly positive feedback and was highly praised and appreciated all over the country.
